GEAR STOLEN IN NEW ORLEANS! PLEASE HELP!

Hello Friends,

As many of you know we were robbed of a large portion of our gear this weekend in New Orleans, and we are on a mission to retrieve it. We asking anyone with any information or any connections to local music stores, pawnshops, or mob bosses, to help us out.

Our main concern is playing, even if its with borrowed equipment, as much as we planned to. We really are close to our equipment and do not have much money to cover the losses. The easiest and most fun way to help us, should you feel so inclined, would be to come out and see us this Saturday the 18th at One Eyed Jacks. We will be selling our CD,s T-shirts, and a special digital download of everything we've ever recorded, including a good deal of unreleased stuff.

In any case, here is what was stolen:

1. Vox Valvetronix VT 100W 2x12 Guitar Amp. This is one of the new models with the silver metal grill. The serial number ends in 604.

2. Ampeg SVT410HLF Bass Cabinet (500W 4x10) When stolen, this still had the custom red and orange grill cloth we used on our amps for a while. Hopefully someone is dumb enough to try to sell it with the cloth still on. Its also missing a caster.

3. Ampeg SVT3PRO Bass Amplifier Head (450W)

4. Fender RT1000 Guitar and Bass Rackmount Tuner

5. Alesis 3630 Compressor

The previous three items were stolen in a basic Road Ready rack case. Once again hopefully someone is dumb enough to try to sell this all at once.

6. Epiphone 2003 Sheraton II. Its the sunburst one, and I.took the pickguard off.

7. Boss Digital Delay DD-3 Pedal

8. Electro Harmonix Holy Grail Reverb Pedal (the larger model, not the newer nano)

9. Ernie Ball VP JR. Volume Pedal

10. Digitech HardWire Series CM-2 Tube Overdrive Pedal

11. Dunlop DC Brick Multi-Power Supply

The five previous items were attached with industrial velcro to a custom built red and white wooden pedalboard, So if you come across more than one of these pedals, and there's remnants of white velcro on the bottoms, let us know.

12. Fender Stage 112 Combo Amp

Everything is golden here at the Silent Cinema camp. I have a new computer, Conan is back on TV, I joined a gym, and we just played a killer show with Bret Bohnet from One Man Machine on drums. Also we won a Where Y'at Best of the Big Easy award!

So anyone who was at our show at the Blue Nile knows what went on. No need to harp on it. Instead we started tracking a new record and are looking for a drummer. Send us some suggestions.

Breakthruradio NOLA Spotlight!

Hey errybody,

Sorry for being away so long, I have been moving over the past week and am now all settled in my new midcity home. Heres whats been up.

As far as shows on the horizon, we have a goodie for you.

April 24th, we we will be squeezing some absolutely incredible New Orleans voices into the Saturn Bar. This one is not to be missed:

Loren Murrell is my absolute favorite singer in this town, and if you havent heard the man yet, then shame on you. I will help you quell this shame though, by giving you this link.

Sarah Quintana once sang me a song waiting in the bathroom line at Mimi's and that blew me away. Imagining this with a guitar and a microphone, is extremely exciting. You can watch her beautiful business go down right here

Hooray for the Riff Raff is real cool. If you like Jana Hunter or Jolie Holland, you will love Ms. Alynda Lee's voice. And check the awesome instrumentation on their songs right about here.

In other news the show with White Bitch, Pumpkin, and our Austin comedy pals Seth Cockfield, Jake Flores, and Joe Staats went really well. We had a great time, and all the bands and comedians were awesome.

Couldn't come at a more inopportune time, though.

Here's our situation. We are looking for a new singer. Micah has decided to part ways with the group, citing creative differences. Though we support his new endeavors whole-heartedly, it is a terrible strain on the band.

The rest of the guys and I will continue under the SC moniker whilst Micah will be working solo with a producer on more Dub-oriented stuff. Our Final show will be this saturday at the Blue Nile. Please come out beg him to stay. I can't try any harder.

We will be holding auditions for new singers next weekend. They will be held with our new producer the legendary Fred LeBlanc at his home studio in Metairie. Parties interested should email a photo and song samples to Silentcinemasilentcinema@gmail.com

It is springtime and to celebrate I have started a blog. Here the band will be sharing news band-related and otherwise, updating very very regularly. Lets be friends.

To bring everyone up to speed:

We finished Fins and Feathers and released it in January. You can get it from us, and within the next week or so, from CDBaby and Itunes.

There is another Here in wacky Italian! This one is particularly interesting because it mentions Kenny Rogers. They give us a 3/5 which seems sort of alright at first. Then I read that Pitchfork-approved Wavves got half that. As did Chris Cornell. Take that Cornell!

Its all very confusing. And the online translator I used kept using the word "eggs" instead of "album." "Fins and Feathers the new eggs by Silent Cinema..."

So now that that album is out of the way, we are marching on to another. We have begun the writing process, and its going absolutely swimmingly.

We also had the honor of playing as part of the New Orleans Indie Rock Festival, put on by Mark Heck and the rest of the crew from the New Orleans Indie Rock Collective. It was a great time for us, all the bands put on a hell of a show, and I saw a lot of you drunk. Visit the NOIRC blog here.
